I’m Nikki, a founding Director of Soul Soil, serving as the Executive Director. This space was born from a lifelong journey of working through trauma and a vision to create something I never had… a safe, grounded place where people can heal, find themselves, and build meaningful community.

My background is in business management, human resources, and long-term mental health nursing care. My husband and I were foster parents for several years in Colorado and New York, and those experiences deepened my commitment to trauma-informed care and relational healing. I’ve always been passionate about mental health, and I’m grateful to have found a community that shares this vision.

Originally from Denver, Colorado, I now call New Mexico home. I spend my time gardening, learning, hanging out with my animals, and staying involved in my local community. Soul Soil is my way of weaving together everything I’ve lived, learned, and loved into a space where others can grow, reconnect, and lead themselves toward lasting transformation.

“One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals.” — Jean Vanier

  • Holly Kidwell

Love. The mystery and sustenance of Love is what drives me and is at the root of my person and work. Hi! My name is Holly, and I am co-founder of Soul Soil, serving as the Secretary and Creative Clinical Director. I am a perfectly imperfect person who tries my best. I have devoted my life to working through past traumas and understand well how overwhelming and isolating the journey of healing can be.

I am excited to be part of Soul Soil because I believe that by cultivating curiosity and meaningful relationships with ourselves, nature, and others, we can experience transformational growth and create authentic community. I want to create a safe space for people to get curious, vulnerable, and creative to grow into their fullest selves while building genuine connections.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New Mexico, with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Divinity in Christian Apologetics. I am a veteran and former military spouse, and I have been in or around the military my entire life. I also hold an undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management and have an eclectic range of experiences, from working at a bakery and gym to interning in a military chapel in the South Pacific.

As a transplant to New Mexico, I am still learning about this beautiful state and its unique rhythm. I am a huge fan of red chili and love learning about cultures through food. I love spending time with my family and animals, and we enjoy getting outdoors through camping and hiking excursions. I also practice yoga and meditation to deepen my connection to self and the Divine, as well as preserve my sanity. I am a forever learner and reader with a deep love of story, and I cannot wait to see how this one unfolds.

Hi there! I’m Brittany, a founding member of Soul Soil, where I serve as Treasurer and Media & Marketing Director. I was drawn to Soul Soil because I share the belief that healing is multifaceted and therefore requires an equally multifaceted approach. In my own life, I have experienced the power of community, nature, and therapeutic practices – core tenets of Soul Soil.

I hold a B.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of New Mexico and am currently pursuing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at New Mexico Highlands University. Here at Soul Soil, I have the privilege of combining my love of storytelling with my passion for therapy to empower others to reclaim their narratives.

Though I was born and raised in New Jersey, I have never felt more at home — or at peace — than in the Land of Enchantment. When I’m not working or studying, you can often find me spending time with my husband and our two dogs, exploring the East Mountains, or curled up with a latte and a good book.
